An old friend introduced us to The Sturgeon King years ago. Since then, I can't visit the city without making the long trip to the upper west side for smoked fish. This meal will get you through the day if necessary, but I like to get there early so I can still have lunch.
This time I noticed other tables engaged in a ritual I've never seen before. While chatting, they were all hollowing out their bagel halves, making a channel. Next, the channel was filled with smoked fish, and the creme cheese was applied on top. Fascinating.
