Strata & Broccoli Salad

We usually have strata for breakfast, but tonight it made a great dinner with a side of broccoli salad. Both recipes are from old-school cookbooks (hey, no pictures!), but I found similar versions on epicurious. The strata recipe can be modified endlessly, and it should be used only as a reference. The one step missing from this version, is soaking the bread (stale works best) in a 1:2 mixture of white wine and milk. Layer it up with whatever you like.

The broccoli salad has been a favorite for years, and this version only varies from the original with the dressing. Here's a better version of the dressing: 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise, 2 tbsp white wine vinegar, 1 tbsp Dijon, 3 tbsp honey & 1/2 cup raisins.
