Cannellini & Lentil Soup
There's still time for some comfort food before the weather turns. This hearty soup has cannellini beans, lentils, fennel, red pepper, onion, bacon & spinach. Perfect for a crispy anchovy bruschetta.
Healthy, delicious, and it made enough to take leftovers for lunch.

Tomato and Fennel Pasta
I found some excellent fresh pasta at the North market on Saturday. Check out the ingredients – red fife, semolina, eggs, water. Nothing extra, just the goodness.
I remembered a great quick tomato sauce recipe from Martha. To the sauce, I added diced fennel, fresh basil and Niagara prosciutto. A tasty compliment to the fab fresh pasta.

White and Orange Salad
If you had to go on a colour diet and only eat only three colours – which three would you choose? I'd choose red, orange and green. That covers about 80% of my favorite foods. The whole idea sounds crazy, but of course a quick search uncovered an interesting article about the benefits of food by colour. What Color is Your Diet.
The white and orange salad has fennel, roasted yellow beets, orange sements, mint, sunflower seeds, walnuts and feta.

Yellorange Salad
We're off the detox, but trying to keep some of the good habits we've learned. Fusilli made this excellent roasted yellow beet salad. There are orange segments hiding in there, shaved fennel, shallots, sunflower seeds and feta. Excellently delicious.

Roasted Arctic Char and Fennel
I was looking for something with fennel and fish... f&f. When came across this recipe it reminded me of another favorite s&a, so I had to try it.
This recipe is so easy, it's ridiculous. There are only three ingredients... if you don't count olive oil, salt and pepper. 25 minutes after you start, you'll putting dishes in the dishwasher and thinking about dessert.

Presentation Salad
I really tried to make this look more appealing than the last salad. This involved the pyramid approach to food presentation, where I assume: food + height = appealing. Hmmm, not sure.
About this salad. Roasted yellow beets, fennel, chicken, walnuts, mint and shaved parmesan. Lightly dressed with olive oil, lemon and vinegar.
I've decided to start rating each dish. It may look good, but how did it taste? In this case, it was a solid dish and it deserved a 3½.
