White and Orange Salad

If you had to go on a colour diet and only eat only three colours – which three would you choose? I'd choose red, orange and green. That covers about 80% of my favorite foods. The whole idea sounds crazy, but of course a quick search uncovered an interesting article about the benefits of food by colour. What Color is Your Diet.

The white and orange salad has fennel, roasted yellow beets, orange sements, mint, sunflower seeds, walnuts and feta.

Yellorange Salad

We're off the detox, but trying to keep some of the good habits we've learned. Fusilli made this excellent roasted yellow beet salad. There are orange segments hiding in there, shaved fennel, shallots, sunflower seeds and feta. Excellently delicious.

Casa Mono

This was our last meal before leaving for the airport, so we had to make it count. Not wanting to take any chances, we headed for Casa Mono, an incredible Spanish Tapas spot. I love tapas, you get to order everything on the menu and you still have room for dessert. If you're up for a show, sit at the bar facing the kitchen.

What we had:

• Cana de Cabra with Golden Beets
• Sweetbreads with Fennel al Mono
• Pig's Feet with Rainbow Chard and Cranberries
• Sepia a la Plancha with Salsa Verde
• Burnt Vanilla Custard (with breaded, deep fried bay leaves)

About this salad. Roasted yellow beets, fennel, chicken, walnuts, mint and shaved parmesan. Lightly dressed with olive oil, lemon and vinegar.

I've decided to start rating each dish. It may look good, but how did it taste? In this case, it was a solid dish and it deserved a 3½.

Bacon's Burger

The burger was good, but the yellow beet salad really was the star of the meal. Rosti came too, but he was just filling the plate.
